Spend an afternoon with a National Geographic photographer or an image-editing specialist getting pro tips, or take a kayak for a paddle along a peaceful shoreline. Non-photographers or those with only a passing interest will find tremendous opportunities at Rancho Las Cruces: hillside hikes with naturalists, snorkeling off the beach, and even seeing the former private homes of Hollywood elite like Bing Crosby and Desi Arnaz.

You’ll be able to hike every day through forests of towering cacti and up striking desert canyons. You’ll take expedition landing crafts along the shore to see and shoot photos of plunge-diving pelicans and blue-footed boobies, and each day you’ll have the option to walk or kayak, and to join a different naturalist as you choose: there are no assigned groups.
